The key feature of the U-shaped layout is that the kitchen is arranged along three adjacent walls. Whilst this layout is relatively common in larger rooms, we would now like to show you how we have managed to achieve this in specific cases within a smaller floor area.
This kitchen furniture was designed for an Airbnb property, so it was very important that it would appeal to the many prospective guests, regardless of their age or gender. We wanted to achieve this by using simple colours, so that the end result would be a modern, elegant interior. We place great emphasis not only on design but also on technical engineering. Here, for example, we had to find a way to ensure that the cooker hood We can connect it discreetly to the ventilation duct on the opposite wall. For this reason, we installed a suspended ceiling, into which we fitted LED spotlights alongside the duct.
Light colours also dominate this kitchen, which is important because, in such a small space, dark-coloured kitchen units would make the room feel very cramped. We’ve incorporated as much storage as possible into this kitchen, where eco-friendly LED lighting under the wall units illuminates the worktop.
This, too, is a tiny room, measuring just 4 square metres, yet there was still enough space for the kitchen appliances in this kitchen. When it came to the two-tone wall units in the kitchen, we felt it was important to the colour white, so that the minimal natural light entering the room, as well as the carefully designed artificial lighting, can be reflected off it, thereby making the space appear larger. When designing the shelving units, we took into account our client’s request that they wanted to be able to access certain ingredients in the kitchen with a single movement, and that they wanted these to be within easy reach at all times.
This kitchen is larger than the ones we’ve already shown, yet we still think it fits into this list. This is because, although one of the walls is quite long, our options were limited as regards the other two. We could have stuck with the For an L-shape That’s true, but our client wanted to incorporate a great many features into their kitchen and needed a huge amount of storage space. The high-gloss surfaces naturally reflect the light falling on them, and the tile-effect splashback also serves this purpose. Our client’s further request was for the end result to be very clean and uncluttered, so both the base and wall units without a handle were produced.
