Top-mounted installation
This is the classic, traditional installation method, as the sink is fitted into the cut-out from above. It is a simple, popular method because it can be used with worktops made from any material. A further advantage is that it can be installed quickly and easily. Blanco offers a wide range of sink bowls made from stainless steel, SILGRANIT® PuraDur® and ceramic, all of which are suitable for top-mount installation.
IF flat-rimmed
With the top-mounted installation method, the sink is placed on top of the cut-out. This method gives a modern look, achieving an effect almost as if the sink bowl were built into the worktop. A major advantage is that it is cheaper and can also be used with laminated worktops. Blanco offers a wide range of stainless steel sinks with IF-style rims.
Worksheet-level integration
For flush-fit installation, the sink is fitted from above. This requires models specifically designed with a rim suitable for this type of flush-fit installation. A recess is cut into the worktop; sealant is applied to this, onto which the sink bowl is then placed, before being secured to the worktop from below using fixing elements. Sink basins built flush with the worktop create a seamless, perfect harmony with the worktop. What’s more, thanks to the mechanical fasteners and sealant, a durable and secure bond is formed between the sink basin and the worktop. At last, we can say goodbye to unsightly rims. It is recommended for use with natural and engineered stone, ceramics and other composite worktops. Blanco offers a wide range of SILGRANIT® PuraDur® sinks that are specifically designed for flush-fit installation.
Building up from the bottom
In such cases, the sink is fitted into the worktop from below with virtually no visible transition, creating a truly harmonious overall effect. The sink can be secured to the worktop from below using special fixing elements and sealant. If the worktop is cut out with care and precision, an extremely durable bond can be achieved using casting resin. The Blanco range includes sinks and basins specifically designed for undermount installation, but almost all stainless steel and SILGRANIT® PuraDur® models are suitable for this. We also recommend this method for worktops made of natural stone, engineered stone, ceramic and glass.
