According to current trends, a modern kitchen is increasingly synonymous with a natural kitchen. The fact that someone wishes to enjoy the benefits of urban infrastructure whilst also longing for a living environment as close to nature as possible is not necessarily mutually exclusive. We would now like to showcase some kitchens that bring a touch of nature into our homes.

Wood in any quantity

When we think of naturalness, what else springs to mind first but wooden furniture? This is a traditional, milled kitchen unit made from a wood-effect material, framed by a white back panel and worktop. The floor is also made of wood, which further enhances the natural feel. The black, uniform handles add character to the design, whilst the stainless steel fittings complement the furniture beautifully.

For those who love modern designs

Kitchen furniture can be both natural and modern, as this design demonstrates. The kitchen units, which mainly feature white fronts, are complemented by a row of wooden wall units. This is actually very practical: the kitchen units extend right up to the ceiling, making full use of the entire wall space and providing plenty of storage capacity.  Given the open-plan kitchen layout, a kitchen island was a must; this too was designed with a natural aesthetic in mind, using wood and stone for the worktop.

Cleanliness and tidiness

Even a natural-style kitchen doesn’t have to be monotonous; you can liven it up, for example, with a beautiful splashback like this. Another special feature of this kitchen is that the top row of cupboards has been replaced by open shelves. We only recommend this for those with a minimalist outlook who don’t have too many possessions, and whose items are uniform and attractive enough to be happily displayed on show. There is no room for clutter in a kitchen like this; everything must always be neatly arranged, and dusting on an almost daily basis is essential.

An incredible amount of storage space

This kitchen has plenty of cupboards, so the owner will certainly have plenty of space for storage. As we can see, the row of cupboards facing each other has a wood-effect finish, whilst the row running perpendicular to them is a striking white. This is significant because, had they all been the same colour, the room would have looked rather like a furniture warehouse; as it is, however, it is divided into clearly distinct sections.

Grey is also a good choice

Finally, we would like to show just how well the colour grey blends into its natural surroundings. As we can see here, it works very well on its own, complemented by wooden elements.

But it is particularly in a spacious kitchen that we can mix and match furniture in different colours. Here, the kitchen units are grey, whilst the kitchen island, with its wood-effect finish, and the wooden floor really make the overall look feel cosy.

Incidentally, grey, stone-effect materials can be used for both splashbacks and worktops.
