Designing bespoke kitchen furniture: where practicality meets elegance

The design and creation of bespoke kitchen furniture is not just about enhancing the aesthetic experience, but also about achieving the perfect harmony between functionality and personalised solutions. In this article, we outline the design process for a simple yet elegant kitchen furniture set, featuring a unique push-open mechanism and a gola profile.

Unique, made-to-measure L-shaped kitchen units

When designing bespoke kitchen furniture, one of the most important considerations is making the most of the room’s layout. The L-shaped kitchen unit shown here is a perfect example of this, as its completely bespoke dimensions allow it to make use of all the available space, including the corners. Even uneven walls are no obstacle: precise design and craftsmanship ensure that every problem can be solved.

The push-open mechanism and the gola profile

One of the most popular features of modern kitchen furniture is the push-open mechanism, which not only creates a clean, uncluttered look but is also practical. Handle-free doors and drawers can be opened effortlessly with a single touch, ensuring the kitchen looks clean and tidy. The gola profile further enhances this modern, minimalist design, lending the kitchen furniture an elegant and contemporary look.

Two-tone design: light-coloured cupboards and a dark back panel

The two-tone colour scheme, in which the light-coloured kitchen units contrast with the dark splashback, creates a unique visual experience. This design is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also makes the space appear more spacious. The light colours enhance the sense of space, whilst the dark splashback adds depth and character to the kitchen.

Double row of wall units: even more storage space

One of the most common problems in kitchens is a lack of storage space. We have addressed this issue in the design of the kitchen furniture shown here by incorporating a double row of wall units. The extra storage space allows you to keep all your essential utensils and cookware neatly organised, ensuring that the worktop always remains clear.

Closed kitchen cupboards to hide the mess

Using mainly closed kitchen cupboards is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also practical. Any mess or clutter can easily be hidden behind the cupboard doors, ensuring the kitchen always remains tidy and clean. This is particularly important in a modern home, where open-plan spaces and minimalist design dominate.

Integrating a freestanding fridge

At our client’s request, we took into account their preference not to have a built-in fridge when designing the kitchen furniture. We integrated the freestanding fridge in such a way that it blends harmoniously with the rest of the furniture. Thanks to the careful design, the fridge is not only functional but also complements the rest of the kitchen aesthetically.

Solving complex floor plans

It is not uncommon for a kitchen’s floor plan to be complex and full of challenges. However, with the right expertise and experience, we can find a solution to every problem. Whether it’s sloping walls, unusual corners or specific requirements, we pay close attention to every detail during the design process to ensure the end result fits the space perfectly and meets the client’s expectations.

The design of bespoke kitchen furniture brings together practicality and elegance. Tailor-made solutions, designed to meet the client’s specific needs, are not only aesthetically stunning but also ensure maximum comfort and functionality in everyday use. When designing and crafting this type of kitchen furniture, we pay attention to even the smallest details to ensure the end result is a perfectly designed and crafted, bespoke kitchen.
