In the following, we\u2019ll compare quartz, marble and granite worktops based on other important factors, and we\u2019ll also answer some of the questions we\u2019re asked most frequently.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><span style=\"color:#009b77\" class=\"has-inline-color\">How waterproof are they?<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Quartz worktops are completely waterproof. The reason for this is that \u2013 as already mentioned in the <a href=\"https:\/\/mobilan-konyhabutor.hu\/en\/quartz-vs-marble-vs-granite-which-one-should-i-choose\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">in the previous part<\/a> As you may have read, they are made by adding resin. Marble is a porous material, which means it absorbs any liquid spilled on it. You really need to take great care with this, and a waterproof sealant must be applied to seal it. We\u2019ve also already mentioned the annual maintenance requirements for granite; a waterproof layer must be applied to it so that we can keep it looking good in the long term. You should always place a heat-resistant mat or chopping board on quartz worktops before placing a hot pan on them, as they remain undamaged up to around 180 degrees. Marble is a good choice in terms of heat resistance. Marble worktops are about twice as heat-resistant as their quartz counterparts. Of the three types, granite comes out on top, withstanding temperatures of over 500 degrees before it starts to crack. So, in practice, you can place practically anything on it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><span style=\"color:#009b77\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Versatility, colour variations<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Genuine quartz is white, but it is available in a range of natural colours, with grey and cream being the most common. Thanks to the way it forms, it is one of the most varied and unique materials. \u201eCarrara\u201d is the most popular, but there are also pink, red, brown, white, cream and green varieties. When it comes to versatility, granite takes the crown; this material offers the widest range of natural colours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mobilan-konyhabutor.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Granite-kitchen-countertops-with-gray-shaker-style-cabinets-white-tile-backsplash_-Stainless_-782x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4350\" width=\"391\" height=\"512\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><span style=\"color:#009b77\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Which of the three worksheets is the best?<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There\u2019s no such thing as the \u2018best\u2019 worktop. What matters is which one best suits your lifestyle. Weigh up the pros and cons of the different materials, and ask your kitchen design expert for advice if you\u2019re unsure which to choose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><span style=\"color:#009b77\" class=\"has-inline-color\">How should I clean these types of worktops?<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cleaning them is by no means complicated, but it does require care. It is best to choose a cleaning product specifically designed for the material in question; your kitchen designer will also be able to advise you on this. The sealants mentioned above are essential for marble and granite \u2013 and don\u2019t forget about maintenance as well as cleaning! Avoid acidic cleaning products, such as vinegar, citric acid and bleach, as these can deteriorate the quality of your worktop over time. The harsher the cleaning product, the faster the sealant will break down on the worktop. Forget about scouring pads too; in fact, we recommend using a soft cloth to clean worktops made of any material. For disinfection, use hot soapy water or an alcohol-based cleaner \u2013 such as Sanitol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We hope that, based on the information we have compiled, you will be able to make the right choice when selecting your worktop.
